Before you start make sure you have an official unlocked iPhone 3G/3GS (not jailbroken), with the latest firmware on the Mobile Vikings network. You can verify this on your iPhone by going to Settings/General/About and confirm the Version field to be 3.1.3 (7E18) or higher.
If your iPhone meets those specifications, please follow these steps:
- Download the latest IPCC by right clicking and selecting "Save Link As"/"Download Linked File As" on this link: MobileVikings_be.ipcc
- When using iTunes on Mac OS X, start the Terminal application from Applications/Utilities/Terminal. In the Terminal type and press enter: defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE
- When using iTunes on Windows, start a Console by going to Start/Run, typing cmd and pressing Enter. In the Console type and press enter: "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
- Start/Restart iTunes
- Connect the iPhone to the computer by using the USB cable
- In the left column, select the iPhone
- When using Mac OS X, click on the "Restore" button while holding the alt/option button
- When using Windows, click on the "Restore" button while holding the shift button
- A file dialog will appear. Select the MobileVikings_be.ipcc file you downloaded in step 1.
- iTunes will now start updating iPhone carrier settings and sync them with your iPhone.

I have an official unlocked iPhone (also jailbroken) iphone 2G (1gen), with the latest firmware (3.1.3 (7E18)) on the Mobile Vikings network.
Any chance that this would work on a 1 gen?
Filip, as clearly stated in the post this has only been tested on non-jailbroken 3G iPhones. You're welcome to try it on yours and provide feedback in the comments... (at your own risk of course)
The ipcc file works perfectly on a 2G iphone !
Buy official Thetering is only available for 3G/3GS devices.
For 2G, you need Pdanet.
is there a way to change the carrier logo back to just text? i don't really care much for the logo... all the other settings are great so i'd like to keep those
All settings except tehtering work on 3.1.2 jailbroken phone too.

Met deze .ipcc heb je terug het probleem dat de iPhone een sms meerdere personen ziet als een MMS, terwijl dat geheel niet de bedoeling is..
Enige oplossing?
@benjamin: tested yesterday on an iPhone 3GS (3.1.3) setup using the instructions from my post and with the provided .ipcc. Was able to send text messages to multiple people with MMS disabled (Settings/Messages/MMS Messaging OFF). Please make sure you are not using a different ipcc and have the latest firmware.

Ik kan dit momenteel niet uitvoeren voor men iPhone 3G.
Wanneer ik in cmd zit start ik automatisch in c:\user\bart en dan kan ik dus niet naar c:\program files\itunes\itunes.exe gaan. Is er een mogelijkheid om terug te gaan?
Ik heb al geprobeerd om als administrator uit te voeren, maar dan kom ik ergens in c:\windows\system32 terecht.
Weet iemand hoe ik dit kan oplossen?
Bart, geef "cd.." in zonder de aanhalingstekens en duw op enter. Herhaal dit tot je bij c:\ komt.
Deze ipcc zal niet meer werken op iOS 4 en de iPhone 4. Misschien kunnen jullie reeds de nodige aanpassingen maken zodat we meteen mee zijn als iOS 4 te downloaden is via iTunes.
@Benjamin na het installeren van deze IPCC kan ik ook geen multiple sms'en sturen zonder dat ik mms uitschakel. is het op een manier mogelijk om dit wel weer in te schakelen? Het stoort mij dat ik mms moet inschakelen als ik er een wil sturen, en weer moet uitschakelen als ik een sms wil sturen naar meerdere mensen. Voor de IPCC was dit perfect mogelijk en ik heb alle instructies hier perfect gevolgd. Iemand een idee?
Hier werkt het terug perfect met deze IPCC..
Enkel jammer dat ik niet rechtstreeks meer kan MMSen (zowel verzenden als ontvangen), maar dat is nu niet zo erg.
Vroeger kon ik direct in een sms een foto toevoegen en eveneens ontvangen. Nuja, vroeger was alles beter :D
kan je deze ipcc ook bij ios 4.1 gebruiken? Zoja, hoe, want het lukt me niet...
@Peter: This IPCC only works on iOS 3.1.3 (mentioned in the title of this post).
I currently don't know of a fully operational IPCC for Mobile Vikings that works with all devices (iPhone 3G/3GS/4) on 4.1.
No updates for ios 5.1??
