2009 Recycling Calendar for downtown Leuven, Belgium

Last year I started publishing a public Google Calendar with the collection schedule for recyclables in in downtown Leuven. Today I am happy to announce that this calendar got updated with the items for 2009.

Since lots of people already use Google Calendar to stay organized and schedule their lives I figured it would be useful for all "Leuvenaars" to be able to add an updated recycling schedule to their existing list of calendars. In order to do so, simply press the button below and the "Ophaalkalender - Leuven Centrum" should appear under "My Calendars" in your Google Calendar!

Subscribing is not limited to Google Calendar alone. Starting with Outlook 2007 you can subscribe by following these steps, and this link:

If you use Apple's iCal then these steps should work together with this link:

Finally you can also check out the Recycling Calendar on the web by clicking this link.

Hey Tom, I clicked the button but it didn't add the calendar? Any idea why?

Interesting. I assume you were logged in using your Google account at the time? Did it at least add the events to your personal calendar?

The steps I used to create the button came out of the Google Event Publisher Guide.

I was indeed logged in when I tried the add, and to see if there was an intermittent problem with adding any calendar I added 2 other public calendars. Both the UK and Dutch public holidays were added successfully.

Thank-you so much for putting in the time to organise this. We have just moved to Leuven and I have often forgotten about a pickup, or left bags out on the wrong day.

I clicked on the "add to google calendar" button, and it worked perfectly.
